Just learned of a great piece of software which was developed by MIT and can be used as extension installed in WordPress or Moodle. One can create interactive exercises for learners with it like drag and drop, video lessons etc.

Here is my week 4 task

Here is my week 4 task,
introducing Blackboard (LMS) and VoiceThread (Online platform),
which I have been using over the last several years.

I'm glad I chose VoiceThread because it's asynchronous-- Students can complete tasks anytime when they have time.

Since most of my students work full time while taking several college courses, they would have dropped out if I had chosen a synchronous platform like Adobe Connect.

The format of the hybrid (blended) class I teach this semester is like this...

Mon: Students complete several online tasks. The tasks include memorizing
vocabulary via Quizlet, doing grammar exercise, writing Chinese characters, etc.

Wed: We meet f2f. Since it's a flipped class, I let them speak, speak, and speak without introducing new words/grammar/characters.

* Again, my video card, Nvidia, has an issue with recording....

This is the video I had in mind producing in OBS (Open Broadcasting Software) when I made the video in Zoom explaining how to use that tool. Another aspect of making this video was to try and edit it in Windows 10 Photos App, which is much more difficult to use than was the old Windows Movie Maker.

When I find I need to get my head around a difficult-to-use tool, I often make a tutorial for it. You can find my tutorial, and critique, of W10 Photos App here. In case you need to use it some day, you might find the tutorial handy. Enjoy:

Hi!

Hi!

Here's my Week 4 assignment. I know I'm late, but considering the hard work,
I had to send it. I like my class plan and visual resources, but I still need a lot of training in front of the camera!

I apologize for being late. My blended lesson focuses on the use of the first conditional sentences.

Thanks a lot!

Here's my assignment for week4.

Here's my assignment for week4.
Sorry for being late...
I prepared a lesson on Bonfire Night.
I just took the text from
https://learnenglishteens.britishcouncil.org/uk-now/read-uk/bonfire-night
inserted in into vocabkitchen.com (thanks a lot to Mariia Ruban for introducing it to me), made the analysys with the help of
CEFR Vocabulary Profiler and inserted some definitions to words I needed my students to learn before our live class.
Then I added those words to quizlet.com
https://quizlet.com/_5k5h3p
for my students to practice the vocabulary. Thank you, Montse Veyrat for sharing such an interesting tool)
Then made a description of it in GoogleClass (again, many thanks to Lisa Wood for this tool)
https://classroom.google.com/u/0/c/MjYwNzA3NjAzMjla/m/MjYwNzA3NjAzMzha/details
and recorded everything in Zoom (here, Heike Philp was the first to introduce it to me, which is highly appreciated).
The sound is ugly, there were several tries, but the first seemed the best, my son's netbook did its best, normal PC is unavailable now...
PS. Can't tag people, just write your names

Dear Coursemates

Dear Coursemates,
Here is my Week 4 task. It's the most difficult for me. I don't have an experience with LMS. But I am so glad that I have had an opportunity to learn from all of you. Am grateful to every single person on the course for what you have done to share.

This is the model for an online blended lesson to teach specific vocabulary for an FCE group.

This is the model for an online blended lesson to teach specific vocabulary for an FCE group. What I found most interesting is the platform ProProfs with a set of possibilities other than quiz making. In case anybody is interested, I include a link below about creating professional courses with it.

Hi

Hi,
Here is my class for the week 4 task. The audio is not great, sorry... My intention is to use the flipped learning model to teach online so I decided to create a FL lesson to teach some future forms. The recording is what students watch before the live session. It includes a grammar explanation and the preparation/practise tasks for the live session. The live session will be an interactive session in which students further practise the content prepared in advance. I had a lot of issues while recording but it has been great practice. I also realised that after sharing the video I forgot to show the presentation in full screen mode so students see all my open tabs... :-( Oh well, things can only get better... I am posting the links to the activities below in the comments section as I can't work out how to add more than one link here. One last thing, thanks for all your help and feedback on the course. It has been fantastic and I have learnt so much and been spurred into action!
