Hossein Vakili and I completed our first lesson with me the teacher and Hossein the victim :-). At the end of 10 minutes Hossein was conversing fluently, as you can see here :-))). If you'd like to try it yourself, the slides we used are available: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/17btmO4akq15xoNmZ8iDdS_HkO2fRQ4HvdeDtW6loqAI/edit?usp=sharing

Assalomu alaykum!
ReplyDeleteI tried to learn Arabic years ago in Egypt, some of this rings a bell ;-) You sound so at ease Vance Stevens speaking it... You are a natural on camera too! Thanks for the lesson in Arabic... Were the "opening and closing credits" the first/last slide in your presentation or did you edit the video after? Great job 👏
ReplyDeleteI noticed that the navigation bar for the presentation appears in the bottom left hand corner like it did for me. I was wondering if there is a way of hiding this from students?
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to learn Arabic. However, I am already studying Chinese and Spanish right now. I wish I had more free time...
ReplyDeleteLisa Wood The post-edited title and outro slides were created in Camtasia - in the test video earlier I used Movie Maker
ReplyDeleteThanks Vance Stevens I am learning so much here ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt was a fantastic teaching by you Vance. You made me interested in learning Arabic by your teaching style!
ReplyDeleteI love how you started the lesson with the reason a person might want to learn the topic you are teaching. Sometimes we think it's obvious, but it really helps to say it. It was a really interesting lesson. I laughed out loud at the last slide!
ReplyDeleteExcellent!
