This week, I had a great time working marianna casoria.

This week, I had a great time working marianna casoria. My aim was to introduce her a vocabulary list called NGSL on Quizlet. (https://quizlet.com/263180180/ngsl-flash-cards/)

We also did a quick comparison of Quizlet to another similar tool called Tinycards towards the end of the session. Marianna made a very good point about teaching the learners how to sign up/create an account for the learning tools.

For more information about NGSL, you can visit:

(PS: Thanks Phil Brown for introducing me to the list)

  3. Students like Quizlet and find it fun. Eunice Tan and marianna casoria I use the free version. The only problem is I can't track students progress, apart from that it works great!

  4. Exactly as Lisa Wood says, you can use Quizlet for free, but if you want to use it with a class or create content for your school to use, you will need to pay for any account. In our context in my last teaching job, we used to use programs such as Socrative and EdPuzzle to give students exercises they could do in class and track that they were actually doing them, and with what result. It was not possible to do THAT with Quizlet unless the teacher had an account, and then the account and password had to be shared with other teachers in order for them to use it so effectively with their class of students.

  5. Thank you Eunice, we love Quizlet! Could I ask you now to do the following: search for YouTube videos on "How to use Quizlet" and listen to the way they explain it. I personally liked this one very much youtube.com - How to Use Quizlet and think she uses wonderful and simple language. When listening to it, can you pick out some of the expressions which are worth learning?

  6. This is the fun part for learners :) when you are not able to track their progress. And there is less stress for them then Eunice Tan
Thanks for sharing the great tool :)

  7. Heike Philp This is really helpful! Thanks for the link. Yeah, I did struggle to explain the tool efficiently because it's new for me. I watched a few Quizlet tutorial videos prior to meeting Marianna but I just lost all my words because I didn't jot down the ESP from those tutorials. I guess I need to more diligent, haha.

  8. Lisa Wood and Vance Stevens. Will definitely check out the free version for teachers. marianna casoria used the free version for teachers, that's why she was very surprised when I mentioned that teachers need to pay for the teacher's version. I am still new with Quizlet. Would love to learn more how to use the teacher's version with the students. :)

  9. Lisa Wood I didn't know there is a free teacher account. It's not a trial version, is it? For me, it is a must because some automated audio sounds in Japanese are wrong, and I need to record my own voice. I also like to add some pictures and use Quizlet Live.

  10. Yuko Kato no it's not a trial version but it has limitations. You can't track students' progress and you have to use the images that are there.
