In this video I am role modeling week 3 task.

In this video I am role modeling week 3 task. I didn't have a partner and just used Zoom to record a tutorial on how to use Movie Maker (Microsoft) to edit videos. Movie Maker is free.
I would be very happy if you could correct my humble software English. Sometimes the way I explain software is long winded and can be expressed shorter and smarter. I am looking forward to your feedback here in G+

  1. I am aware that WMM is hard to come by these days. If you google Download WMM you get a warning that the program might be bundled with unwanted gremlins, screencast.com - 2018-10-24_1456downloadWMM

I would like to know where to get the program but you might need to get it from friends who already have the old installation files. Have you got one you can share, Heike? I might have one somewhere as well but not on any device I've got with me.

  2. Vance Stevens I get most of my free software from chip.de, a German computer website which virus checks all which they offer. Whenever you install free software, make sure to carefully navigate through the installation process so as not to accept the advertisements (antivirus, BING search sites etc.)

  5. Windows Photo app is a pain to use compared to Movie Maker but it is the best Microsoft could come up with, I used it today, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4051785/windows-10-create-or-edit-vid.

With WMM you put everything you've got on a storyboard and remove what you don't want, fairly easy. With WPA you cherry pick what you want by cutting parts out from a big video and put those parts into a storyboard to construct your video. It's a cart-before-the-horse approach but you can make it work.

  6. I faced the same problem as Vance and Lisa. I went to the Microsoft official website and it mentions "Window Movie Maker, part of Windows Essentials 2012, is no longer available for download. Websites that offer free downloads of Movie Maker are not offering the real thing, and those downloads may contain malware, viruses, or hidden costs. " and they kind of force the users to use Photos app that comes with Windows 10, which is a pain for those who are not Windows 10 users. I remember having really good experience using Windows Movie Maker 2.6 back then, but I have lost the installer after switching to a new laptop. Would be great if anyone of us here can give a trustworthy link to download the Windows Movie Maker 2.6 again. :)
